Our journey began in 2021 in the vibrant landscape of South Africa, with the founding of BuyAlot, a proudly South African online marketplace. We set out with a vision to connect buyers and sellers across the nation, fostering a thriving e-commerce ecosystem.
August 2022 marked a pivotal moment for us. We successfully acquired Kaylen's Get Cardy, a move that truly ignited our expansion strategy. With this acquisition, we officially rebranded ourselves as The BuyAlot Group, laying the groundwork for a diversified portfolio of companies. By November 2022, our dedication to growth was evident, as BuyAlot boasted over 200 sellers and an impressive 2,000+ products. The year concluded with another significant acquisition in December 2022, when we welcomed The Party Supplies Store, a promising new start-up, into The BuyAlot Group. Since then, all three of these foundational companies have experienced substantial growth and expansion.
August 2023 celebrated a year since the acquisition of Kaylen's Get Cardy, and we commemorated this by unveiling a bold new logo and an expanded product range for the brand. We pushed beyond their initial offerings of just cards, notebooks, and pens, diversifying their product lines to meet broader consumer needs. Indeed, 2023 proved to be our most successful year to date in terms of sales, a testament to our strategic acquisitions and relentless pursuit of growth.
Building on the momentum of a booming 2023, we proudly launched our latest venture: Style Wear. This is our own proudly South African online clothing retailer, offering a distinctive brand of apparel. Style Wear is structured with five dedicated subsidiaries to cater to various fashion needs: Style Bro (Men's Clothing), Style Chick (Women's Clothing), Style Kids (Children's Clothing), Style Care (Self-Care products), and S.O.C.K.S (Socks). Beyond our house brands, Style Wear also proudly features products from global giants in the clothing and apparel sector.
As 2024 unfolded, we embarked on a comprehensive assessment of our brand portfolio. This culminated in a significant decision during a meeting in February 2025: to strategically close down BuyAlot as a marketplace. This move paves the way for an exciting new chapter: the launch of a no minimum spend or quantity wholesaler open to the public, also under the BuyAlot name. This innovative wholesale concept is currently in development and is anticipated to launch in Quarter 4 of 2025.
Our most recent addition to The BuyAlot Group family is #Random Things. This exciting new venture offers a diverse array of products sourced from each of The BuyAlot Group's companies, alongside other curated items. #Random Things extends our reach by selling on established online marketplaces, including Takealot.com, Amazon.co.za, and Makro Online, bringing our diverse product range to an even wider audience.
